Academics: Health/Physical Education > Prudential Fitnessgram

The Prudential Fitnessgram is an assessment tool utilized by the physical education teachers that enables a student to observe and track his/her progress in various areas of physical fitness. For each of the five tests (listed below), a student can fall into one of the following categories based on his/her score, age, and gender: Healthy, Exceptionally Healthy, or Needs Improvement. A student can examine his/her level of physical fitness, then can identify various potential fitness goals based on the results. The Fitnessgram consists of the following fitness tests:

  1. The PACER test (progressive aerobic capacity endurance run)
  2. The Sit-and-Reach test
  3. The Shoulder Flexibility test
  4. The Push-up test
  5. The Curl-up test

Below is a sample of how a student's data can be tracked from one year to the next. The student would select the 'data' appropriate to age and gender. Upon accessing this document, the student would enter his/her scores, and then bring up the corresponding 'chart' to gain a visual representation of progress.
