H-Pod Transformation

Dina Palski reading to students

The Oak Ridge H-Pod is being transformed this summer, thanks to the generosity of the friends and family of Dina Palski.  Dina was a caring and passionate first grade teacher who was taken from us too early due to an aggressive cancer.  Dina’s latest passion project surrounded the importance of play in the classroom.  She read, researched and spread the word whenever she could about the importance of allowing students to learn through guided play.

The H-pod transformation is the first step towards Dina’s vision of playful learning at Oak Ridge coming to fruition.  With the help of the Palski family, the Indian Valley Education Foundation, and her dedicated colleagues, students in kindergarten, first and second grade will return in the fall to a more playful environment in their pod.
