Updates and Reminders - January 10, 2025
I clearly jinxed our ability to sled this week. I apologize for getting the kids excited, only to have the wind chill drop into the teens. As a district we keep the students inside for recess if the wind chill is below 20 degrees. Hopefully, we'll get at least one sledding day this year. Here are some updates and reminders for the coming weeks:
- This Saturday, January 11th is the first Honors Orchestra practice for those participating.
- Home and School’s Hobby Night will be Friday, January 17th. Registration for this event is due by Sunday.
- School is closed on Monday, January 20th for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. There is no school for students on Wednesday, January 29th due to a teacher in-service day.
- We are heading into the last week of Flight 3. Flight Time is our end of the day support and exploration period for 2nd-5th grade that we are implementing for the first time this year. I am really excited about the growth of the program so far, but the period is still a work in progress. We continue to work towards involving as many students as we can in ‘out of classroom’ activities. I have been very impressed with some of the independent learning activities I have seen from our students.
- Here is the latest episode of News From The Nest.
