Updates and Reminders - January 23, 2026

If you haven’t heard, it sounds like we are expecting a little snow over the weekend.  We are sending home devices in case the district enacts a FID day (students work on assignments from teachers at home) for Monday.  Please look for further directions from your child’s teacher for how to navigate the day (which could include some shoveling and snowmen :). Here are some additional updates and reminders:

  • We are welcoming Miss Taylor Palazzi, who will be filling in for our Reading Specialist, Mrs. Derstine, during her leave.  Miss Palazzi’s most recent role was as the Reading Specialist at Wissahickon Middle School.
  • Wednesday, January 28th is an In-Service Day.  There is no school for students that day.
  • Girls on the Run is back at Oak Ridge for another season!  Registration for the program is open.  Spots are limited!  Reach out to Emily Marzewski at emarzewski@soudertonsd.org with any questions about the program.
  • As you may have seen from an earlier district email, families are invited to a free movie event, Screenagers.  This film addresses the challenges children, parents, and educators face in today’s digital world, including early exposure to online content, social media pressures, device distractions in the classroom, moderating video game use and behavior, and rising sleep deprivation among youth. The event will be held on Wednesday, February 18th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Indian Valley Middle School.  Snacks will be provided. Screenagers Registration
  • Here is the latest episode of News From The Nest

Thank you for your continued support!  Stay safe!
