Updates and Reminders - January 30, 2026

Despite having a snow day, a two-hour delay and an in-service day all in one week, our students handled the disruptions well and had a great week.  We are hoping the temperature rises next week so they can get outside during the day for recess.  Here are some updates and reminders:

  • After some consideration, we have decided to keep our Valentine’s Socials on Thursday, February 12th, even though February 13th is now a school day.  We didn’t want to inconvenience volunteers who scheduled the day, and we didn’t want students who had trips planned for that weekend to miss the special day.  If you are taking a trip on Friday, February 13th, please don’t forget to reach out to Mrs. Chwieroth at attendOR@soudertonsd.org so she can code the absence as Excused Family Travel. 
  • We are announcing our next school-wide challenge.  We're bringing back our "Create Your Own Valentine’s Mailbox" challenge that was such a big hit last year.  Mailboxes will be due on February 12th and voting will take place on February 13th.  We'll be sending out more information about the challenge early next week.
  • Our Sundae Bars for 2026 will be on Friday, February 6th as well as Friday, March 20th, and Friday, May 1st! Home & School is now offering the ability to pay for Sundae Bar online. You can pay for one sundae bar or the remaining three sundae bars. Payments can be made online. If you prefer to pay by cash, you are welcome to do so when the reminder/order slip comes home prior to the event. Please reach out to Home and School with any questions you may have. Thank you!
  • As you may have seen from an earlier district email, families are invited to a free movie event, Screenagers.  This film addresses the challenges children, parents, and educators face in today’s digital world, including early exposure to online content, social media pressures, device distractions in the classroom, moderating video game use and behavior, and rising sleep deprivation among youth. The event will be held on Wednesday, February 18th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Indian Valley Middle School.  Snacks will be provided. Screenagers Registration
