Updates and Reminders - February 20, 2026

We wrapped up our Kindness Week with a kindness themed Fun Friday that two of our fourth graders created.  The classes had fun trying to figure out the secret sentence.  It was also nice to see so many students participate in our themed days throughout this week.  Thank you so much for supporting our efforts to make school fun for the students.  Here are some additional updates and reminders:

• Due to the current Sunday forecast, we sent devices home with students just in case the district needs to enact a FID day for Monday. 
• Join Home & School tonight, Friday, February 20th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm for our Family Fun Night - Roller Skating at Inline309! Cost is $10 per skater, non-skaters are free, and is open to all students, friends, and family. We hope to see you there!
• Home & School's Gertrude Hawk Chocolate fundraiser ends this Sunday, February 12^th.  See the Gertrude Hawk Online Form if you would like to participate.  Home & School earns 40% commission on all sales.  Organization ID # is 126558.  Thanks for your support!
• Home & School will host an Afterschool Rec for 3^rd grade students on Wednesday, February 25^th.  The deadline to sign up is today.  See the 3rd Grade Rec Sign-up Form.  If you have questions about the events, please email us at ASRec.ORE@gmail.com 
• Friday, March 6^th is an In-Service Day.  There is no school for students.
• Next week is the final week of Flight 4.  We built in a break (March 2^nd-March 5^th) before we start Flight 5 (March 8^th).  During this week we would like to invite parents who are interested in sharing about their careers or hobbies with the students. These presentations would happen during our normal Flight time, from 2:45-3:15, Monday, March 2^nd-Thursday, March 5^th.  If interested, please see the Career Share flyer for more information.  If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Mazurek (mmazurek@soudertonsd.org).
• As we approach spring, I wanted to reminder everyone that I am unable to excuse trips for students in 3^rd, 4^th or 5^th grade during PSSA testing days.  The schedule for the testing days is as follows:
  • ELA (3^rd, 4^th & 5^th) April 20^th, 21^st & 22^nd
  • Math (3^rd, 4^th & 5^th) April 27^th & 28^th
  • Science (5^th) April 29^th & 30^th
