Updates and Reminders - February 21, 2025
We had another student created Fun Friday activity today. I love how our students get involved and come up with great classroom challenges. Today’s Fun Friday was guessing the teacher in a series of pictures. Three of our fabulous fourth graders put together a slide show and took the photos as a flight time passion project. Everyone seemed to enjoy the challenge! Here are some more updates for the coming weeks:
- SouderTHON takes place Tonight, February 21st from 6:00-9:00pm at the high school. There will be a Moonbounce, Magician, DJ, dancing, and many more fun activities. The cost is $20 per family.
- Next week we will be participating in the district-wide Bean Bag Drive. The Bean Bag Food Program is a local organization that provides over 225 students in the SASD with weekend bags of food containing breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and other personal care items delivered to their homes every week by volunteers. They rely on our community's generosity to make this program a reality. See the Bean Bag Program flyer that provides donation suggestions per grade level if you would like to participate.
- Next Tuesday, February 25th is second grade rec for those signed up by today. Thanks to Home and School for hosting the recs.
- March 3rd begins Read Across America Week. We will celebrate with our annual, reading as a school in the main hallway on Wednesday, March 5th.
- The Reading Olympics Mock Competition will also be on March 5th from 3:30-4:30 pm.
- March 6th is our big Lip Sync at the high school from 7:00-9:00 pm.
- March 7th is an in-service day, there is no school for students.
- Home & School is having a volunteer event at Mitzvah Circle's new location at 435 Doylestown Road, Lansdale on Friday, March 7th when the students are off from school. The event is from 9:30-11:30am. All Oak Ridge families are welcome to come out and help spread kindness in our community. Mitzvah Circle information and sign up.
