Updates and Reminders - March 5, 2026

March Madness has arrived!  I’m sorry there was conflicting messaging about our Wednesday Spirit Day.  It was nice to see the students 'go with the flow.'  We had the need for an additional adjustment to our calendar come up this week.  We need to move Rock Your Socks for Down Syndrome Day to Monday, March 23rd.  Sorry for the changes, and thank you for your flexibility with Whacky Wednesday and Rock Your Socks.  Here is a link to the updated March Calendar, and here are some additional updates and reminders:

  • Adding to the madness this week was what seems to be a stomach bug going around the school.  We have our night cleaning crew working extra hard to disinfect the rooms at night but also wanted to send a friendly reminder about the District Guidelines for Illness. 
  • Tomorrow is an In-Service Day, there is no school for students.
  • Each year the district supports the Bean Bag Program, which helps provide food to local families in need.  The 100-box challenge runs from Monday, March 9th to  Friday, March 27th.  You can find more information on the Bean Bag 100 Box Challenge Link.
  • We are proud of all the students who will have their Art Displayed at the Indian Valley Public Library throughout the month of March.  The Artist Reception will be on Thursday, March 12th at the IVPL from 5:30pm-7:00pm. 
  • Yearbooks are now on sale for $22, and the sale ends on March 31st.  If you want to place an order, you’ll need to do it through this Yearbook Order Link.  
  • As we approach spring, I wanted to reminder everyone that I am unable to excuse trips for students in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade during PSSA testing days.  The schedule for the testing days is as follows:
    • ELA (3rd, 4th & 5th) April 20th, 21st & 22nd
    • Math (3rd, 4th & 5th) April 27th & 28th
    • Science (5th) April 29th & 30th
  • Home and School would like to invite you to the Annual Lip Sync event on Friday, March 27th at 7:00pm in the SAHS Auditorium. If your child signed up to participate, please review and respond to the email sent by the Lip Sync Committee confirming all information is correct. 
  • The 3rd Annual Spring Flea Market, Bake Sale & Clothing Drive will be on Saturday, May 30th. Signups are open and can be found on the Vendor Link and Volunteer Link
