Updates and Reminders - March 6, 2025

What a busy and fun week we’ve had at Oak Ridge!  In addition to our spirit days, we started the week with a fun assembly with the Harlem Wizards.  Yesterday, we had our traditional reading in the hallway to celebrate Read Across America Week.  We were also joined by some high school students from the Seussical Musical who visited classrooms to promote their play.  And we will close the week with our big Lip Sync event at the high school tonight!  Here are some additional updates and reminders:

  • This month we are focusing on March Manners.  Each day the teachers start the day with a brief reminder about different ways to show our manners throughout the school and we will practice throughout the day and month. 
  • Again, tonight is our Lip Sync at the high school from 7:00-9:00 pm.  Participants should arrive by
  • Tomorrow is an in-service day, there is no school for students.
  • Home & School is having a volunteer event at Mitzvah Circle's new location at 435 Doylestown Road, Lansdale on Friday, March 7th when the students are off from school. The event is from 9:30-11:30am. All Oak Ridge families are welcome to come out and help spread kindness in our community.
  • The Reading Olympics is at the High School at 6:00 on Tuesday, March 11th.
  • Yearbooks are On Sale for $19! Sale ends March 31st. Yearbooks can be ordered online.  The Homeroom Teacher's Last Name section says optional but please fill it in. 
  • It’s Youth Arts Month!  To celebrate, students from across the district have work displayed at the Indian Valley Public Library throughout the month.  The reception for students who have work on display will be Thursday, March 13th from 6:00-7:00pm.  Thanks to Mrs. Turock for having the hard task of selecting from so many great pieces and for hanging the work throughout the IVPL. 
  • Mrs. Daley, our Librarian, will be hosting the annual Book Fair in the gym. The fair is on Wednesday, April 2nd, from 9:00 AM -2:45 PM in the Oak Ridge Gym. If you are able to volunteer, please use the sign-up genius link.
  • Please note that the date for the Wizards is incorrect on our March calendar.  The event is April 4th.
