Updates and Reminders - April 12, 2024
A big thank you goes out to High School Teacher and Coach Mike Child’s and the Souderton Baseball Team for coming to Oak Ridge yesterday to support our fifth graders during their Probability Baseball Draft. Fifth grade will be using the last few weeks of WIN time to enrich their knowledge of statistics and probability through a fun baseball unit. Here are some additional updates and reminders as we head into the weekend:
- We are looking forward to our first Career Day next Friday, April 19th. Students will be able to dress like their future career if they choose or they could wear college themed attire as well. Thanks to the many parents who volunteered to participate.
- The 2023-2024 Oak Ridge Yearbook is for sale online only for $16. It is 92 color pages packed with memories! Don't miss out! Yearbooks can be ordered online. Sales ends Friday, April 12th.
- We are continuing our Keystone Opportunity Soap Drive throughout the month of April. Each school in the district is participating in helping our local Keystone Opportunity Center, which helps local families in need. See the flyer with our specific collection items.
- The Indian Valley Character Counts Coalition is hosting a Family Wellness and Fun Night at Indian Crest Middle School on Friday, April 19th from 5:00-8:30 PM. See the Together We Grow flyer for more information.
- Below are the dates for PSSA testing:
- April 22, 24, 25 – ELA (April 26- make-ups)
- April 29th & April 30th (Math)
- May 1st & 2nd (Science) (May 3-make ups)
- April 23rd is election day and an in-service day for schools. There is no school for students that Tuesday.
- Author and former Oak Ridge teacher, Melissa Trempe will be visiting our school and sharing with the students her writing process on Friday, May 3rd. See the flyer with directions on how you can pre-order a signed copy of her latest book, Ladybug Launch.
