Updates and Reminders - May 17, 2024

What a fun and busy day we had at Oak Ridge!  Our third grade headed to the zoo for a field trip, fourth graders presented their biography projects, and Home and School hosted a Sundae Bar at lunch.  Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with the trip, the ice cream, the Jump Rope Club and thanks to all the special guests who came and supported our fourth graders.  Here are some additional updates and reminders as we head into the weekend:

  • Due to tomorrow’s weather forecast, our Oak Ridge Spring Flea Market Fundraiser is postponed until Saturday, June 1st from 8-11am. We are still looking for baked good donations as well as market volunteers for the new date. Please use this Sign-Up Genius if you're able to help.  Home & School is also collecting donations of household items, books, toys, clothes, and more to sell at the Flea Market. If you have items you would like to donate or for more information, please send an email to OakRidgeFundraising465@yahoo.com. 
  • There are still some open spaces to volunteer for Field Day!  Mr. Kelly and Home and School are working together to recruit volunteers to run games and other important stations during Field Day, which is next Friday, May 24th.  Here is the link to the Sign-Up Genius.
  • Monday, May 27th there is no school for the Memorial Day Holiday.
  • As an appreciation to all who volunteered their time to make our school year special, we are having an informal Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast on Friday, May 31st from 8:45-10:00am.  Please feel free to stop in and enjoy some homecooked breakfast items prepared by the staff.
  • Here are next week’s letters and activities in our Z-A Countdown.  
    • Monday- K: Kindness Day: Be extra kind today.
    • Tuesday- J: Joke Day: Tell a friend a good joke.
    • Wednesday- I: Inside-Out Day: Wear something inside-out.
    • Thursday- H: Hat/Helping Day: Wear a hat and give a helping hand.
    • Friday- FIELD DAY: Countdown paused for some outdoor fun!
  • Oak Ridge Home and School is hosting an After-Hours Shopping event tonight from 6pm-7:30pm at Floral and Hardy in Skippack.  All purchases will earn a 10 percent commission for Oak Ridge.  It’s the perfect time to pick up garden plants, flowers, or home decor.  
  • Next Wednesday, May 22nd is the Kindergarten trip to Center Point Pond and next Thursday, May 23rd, is the 5th grade field trip to Philadelphia.
