Updates and Reminders - May 31, 2024
We had our last Owl Time Assembly this afternoon and our kindergarteners did a great job sharing. We also ended the assembly by letting the students know they were getting their yearbooks when they returned to class. We reminded them of the importance of being kind when signing yearbooks over the last week. Here are some additional updates and reminders as we head into the weekend:
- Thank you to Home and School and especially to Mrs. Bilotti for putting the yearbook together and organizing them for distribution. There are a very limited number of yearbooks available for purchase for $20 (cash only) on a first come first serve basis. They can be purchased in the office on Monday.
- The Oak Ridge Spring Flea Market Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, June 1st from 8-11am. We are still looking for baked good donations as well as market volunteers for the new date. Please use this Sign-Up Genius if you're able to help. If you have items you would like to donate or for more information, please send an email to OakRidgeFundraising465@yahoo.com.
- Here are next week’s letters and activities in our Z-A Countdown.
- Monday- C: Computer Science/Compliment Day: Compliment someone today and celebrate computer science.
- Tuesday- B: Beach Day: Where your summer Boardwalk attire.
- Wednesday- A: Art Day: Create art today and wear colorful clothing.
- Thursday- 1:45 Dismissal
- Friday- 10:45 Dismissal
- Next week is a big week for our fifth graders, they have their picnic at Alderfer Park on Tuesday and their Talent Show on Wednesday.
- The fifth grade will also have their Moving Up Celebration on Thursday, June 6th at 12:00 in the gym. This is a proud tradition at Oak Ridge where we honor our fifth graders as they move onto the middle school. We should have enough space for 2-4 people per family. Younger siblings do not attend the moving up ceremony as they are able to see the video the next day.
- Here is the latest episode of News From the Nest. This week's show has a special surprise after the credits. Mrs. Irvin and her crew added the 5th grade production, Camp Rocky Road to the end of the show. Enjoy!
Thank you for your continued support!
