Updates and Reminders - September 27, 2024
We had a great day at Oak Ridge! We started out with our first Fun Friday of the year. These are fun activities each Friday that build classroom teamwork and school spirit. Today, Mrs. Irish’s and Miss David’s classes won their classroom Owls by getting all the items from our classroom scavenger hunt to the office first. We also had our first Home and School Sundae Bar of the year, which was a huge hit! Thanks to all the volunteers who helped with Sundae Bar, Jump Rope Club and Kindergarten/1st grade lunch. Here are some additional updates and reminders:
- Next Wednesday, October 2nd will be our yearly Walk to School Day. We meet at Alderfer Park at 8:00 am and then we will make our way to the school on the trail. Parents are welcome to walk with their children up to the school.
- Reminder that there is no School on Thursday, October 3rd in observance of Rosh Hashanah.
- On Friday, October 4th, Home and School will join us for our Owl Time Assembly to Kick off our Race of Champions Fund Raiser, which will take place on Friday, October 18th. Below is the schedule for Race Day. Parents are welcome to come and cheer on their child from the sidelines.
- 9:15- 5th grade
- 10:00- 2nd & 3rd grade
- 10:45- 4th grade
- 11:50- Kindergarten & 1st grade
- Friday, October 11th is Picture Day, with retakes happening on Monday, November 11th.
- And a reminder that Monday, October 14th is an In-Service Day. No school for students this day.
