Updates and Reminders - October 3, 2025

We started our day off with our first Fun Friday activity.  Each Friday that we do not have an assembly we have fun challenges or activities for the students to work as a team.  Today we sang “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” in honor of the opening of the Phillies playoff run. Here are some additional updates and reminders:

  • Monday, October 6, 2025, is World Day of Bullying Prevention - on this day we will join students, schools, and communities all over the world by wearing BLUE to go against bullying. Wear your blue shirt on Monday, October 6th.
  • Tuesday, October 7th at 7pm is the next monthly Home & School meeting in the Oak Ridge Library. All are welcome to join in person or virtually via the link shared on our Facebook group.
  • Next Tuesday, October 7th, Home and School will be “chalking the walk” between school and the park in preparation for Walk to School Day. Meet us at Alderfer Park between 4:30-6:30pm. Bring chalk if you have it!
  • Walk to School Day will be next Wednesday, October 8th.  We meet at the pavilion in Alderfer Park and make our way to the school shortly after 8:00am.
  • Picture Retake Day is Thursday, October 9th. 
  • The 3rd grade Afterschool Rec will be on Thursday, October 9th.  See the 3rd Grade After School Rec Sign-up.  Registration closes on Monday (10/6).
  • The 2nd grade Afterschool Rec will be on Tuesday, October 14th.  See the 2nd Grade After School Rec Sign-up. Registration closes next Friday (10/10). If you have any questions, please email ASRec.ORE@gmail.com
  • If you did not get to fill out our classroom volunteer interest form and would like to volunteer this year, please contact oakridgehomeandschool@gmail.com.
  • As you are purchasing or making costumes for our Fall Socials and Parade, please remember no weapons or look alike weapons are allowed on school property. 
  • Our Veterans Day Assembly will be on November 7th, at 9:00 am.  If you would like to honor a Veteran or active-duty member of the armed services as a special guest.  See the Veterans Day Assembly Sign-up form.
