Updates and Reminders - Oct. 6, 2023
Our first Fun Friday activity was a success. We have many well-traveled students! In the end, Mr. Smith’s class won the first classroom Owl with 46 states visited. I was also impressed with the several students who memorized to Nifty Fifty song. Thank you for all your help with this activity! Here are a few additional updates and reminders:
- Thank you to the many families who joined us for our annual Walk to School this past Wednesday. It is always a great way to start our day, and this year was no exception!
- Next Monday, October 9th is an In-Service Day.
- Next week, on Tuesday, October 10, it’s our ONE DAY Book Fair, a fun event that offers students the opportunity to purchase books. All sales earn rewards for our school! If your child wishes to buy books at the fair, s/he may bring money, checks made out to OAK RIDGE, or use eWallet. There’s also an opportunity to shop online starting October 9th. Visit our school's Scholastic Web site to set up a cash-free eWallet account, shop online from 10/9-10/22, peruse the fair flyer, and more!
- Character Counts week will be October 16th-October 20th.
- The Fall Parade and Socials are fast approaching, which means it’s time for me to remind everyone that there are no weapons or look alike weapons allowed for costumes. Thanks for understanding.
- Just a reminder that On Friday, November 10th, we will honor our Oak Ridge Family Veterans at our Owl Time Assembly. If you have a Veteran in your family, please feel free to invite them to be honored, please fill in the Veterans Day Assembly RSVP Form.
