Updates and Reminders - Oct. 13, 2023
We started our day with a Fun Friday Phire Drill. We had our monthly fire drill and then once it was completed, we formed a baseball diamond on the playground and sang, ‘Take Me Out to the Ballgame’ in celebration of the Phillies big win last night. The kids did a great job, so look for on next week’s News From The Nest. Here are a few additional updates and reminders:
- Character Counts week will be October 16th-October 20th. Every year we celebrate Character Counts week by wearing the color that represents a different pillar each day. Here is the schedule for next week:
- Monday, October 16th - wear PURPLE for citizenship.
- Tuesday, October 17th- wear GREEN for responsibility.
- Wednesday, October 18th- wear GOLD for respect.
- Thursday, October 19th- wear BLUE for honesty.
- Friday, October 20th- wear RED for caring.
- On Tuesday, October 24th, our fourth grade is sponsoring a Taco Tuesday fundraiser for their Harrisburg trip later in the year. If you would like a night off from cooking you can order using this FORM, then you will be able to pick up your food at Oak Ridge between 5:00-5:30pm on Tuesday. Orders are due by Monday, October 23rd at 1:00pm.
- Conferences will be scheduled from November 20th to November 22nd. You should receive an invite to schedule your child’s conferences within the next two weeks. Conferences can be done in person or online through Teams.
- The Fall Parade and Socials will take place on Tuesday, October 31st. As you are preparing costumes for your child, please remember that there are no weapons or look alike weapons allowed for costumes (or anytime throughout the year). Thanks for understanding.
- On Friday, November 10th, we will honor our Oak Ridge Family Veterans at our Owl Time Assembly. If you have a Veteran in your family please feel free to invite them to be honored by completing the Veterans Day Assembly RSVP Form.
