Updates and Reminders - October 25, 2024

On Friday, October 25th, we ended the day by celebrating our Fun Run with a Popcorn Party and a Special Edition of News From The Nest (link below).  We raised over $38,000.00 for our school.  Again, Thank you for the tremendous support.  This money will go towards funding our Home and School events over the next few years as well as towards a new shed that will store recess and Flight Time equipment.  We will share more information about Flight Time in next week’s email and News From The Nest.  Below are some additional updates and reminders:

  • School pictures are ready!  To order, log in to your account on mylifetouch.com or create an account using your student's student ID number.  All families can also log on and order a FREE Digital SmileSafe card.  Use the following link for more about the SmileSafe program.  If you plan on having your child get a retake on November 11th, save your pictures and look for a link and more information in next week’s email.
  • The Fall Parade and Socials will be on Thursday, October 31st.  The parade begins around 1:30. Parents are welcome to come and watch from the grass around the blacktop. Looking forward to a great event.  Thank you!
  • Home & School's Family Bingo Night is happening on Friday, November 1st! This is a free event that starts at 6pm in the gym. Please also consider bringing non-perishable food items for Keystone Opportunity Center. We hope to see you there!
  • Tuesday, November 5th is election day and an In-Service day for teachers.  There is no school for students.  Home and School is offering a Painting With a Twist event that day.  Information on how to sign up was sent home on a flyer last week.
  • Oak Ridge Home and School is also raising money with Box Tops for Education for new Recess and Playground equipment.  October is the perfect time to enroll if you are new to box tops.  Each new account created through 10/31 will earn Oak Ridge Elementary $10.  All you need is the app, our referral code, your email address, and scan a receipt dated within the last 14 days.  Any receipt will work.  The first receipt scanned does not need a box tops item.  Oak Ridge receives the $10 after the first receipt is scanned.  Thanks for your support.
