Updates and Reminders - November 21, 2025

We started the week with our Grade Level Meetings, where Mrs. Beebe and I reviewed ways we, “Take Care of Ourselves, Others and Our School”.  This, along with our monthly Character Counts Awards, Hoots, Owl Reflections, NFTN and Flight Activities are part of our school’s PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) plan.  We try to have three of these meetings a year, as they are good reminders for maintaining a positive school culture.  Here are some additional updates and reminders:

  • Conference Week begins on Monday, November 24th.  If you need to change your conference time on the form, please email the teacher to notify them of the change.  And just a reminder that we are implementing new language arts curriculum this year.  The teachers have been learning and navigating the new program along with the students.  Some of the information shared will be different than in years past.

  • Home and School’s Annual Clothing Drive will be held on Monday, November 24th from 9am to Noon. Items may be dropped off outside the Kindergarten entrance during this time. Volunteers to help with the drive on Monday can see the clothing drive signup.

  • Holiday Shoppe begins Monday, December 1st! A letter with additional details will be sent home next week. Please consider donating sturdy paper bags with handles, new or used crayons, colored pencils, markers, and brown or white paper lunch bags. A collection box will be in the lobby during parent teacher conferences.

  • Our Spirit Wear Store is offering free shipping on orders placed by November 23rd. Select ship-to-school as your delivery method when checking out and your order will be distributed to your child. Our Swag Shop is also open and accepting orders until December 1st

  • The Oak Ridge Hospitality Committee is hosting a Teacher & Staff Thanksgiving Luncheon to show our appreciation during conference week! Families can participate by signing up to bring an item or making a donation to support the meal. We’re also inviting students and parents to share a note of gratitude for teachers and staff.

  • The Indian Valley Character Counts! Coalition is hosting a free night of creativity, connection and community on December 2nd from 6:00pm- 7:30pm.  See the Family Art Night flyer. This event is good for the whole family!
