Updates and Reminders - April 26, 2024

The construction is going very smoothly.  On Monday they are beginning Phase 2, which includes the gym.  This will cause us to shift our Parent Drop Off and Pick Up lines further down the sidewalk.  It will also require the pickup students to come through the lobby as the gym entrance will be blocked off.  We appreciate your patience as we navigate the new procedures.  Kids Kare will be able to return to the cafeteria entrance for drop off and pick up.  Here are some additional updates and reminders as we head into the weekend:

  • Monday, April 29th we are excited to begin our Z-A Countdown.  This is a low-key way to add fun to the end of the year.  There is no reason to purchase anything for any of the days.  Attached is the calendar with the descriptions of each day.  See the Z-A Countdown calendar.  Here are the fun days for next week:
    • Monday- Z: Zebra Day: Wear all black and white.
    • Tuesday- Y: Yellow/’Yay’ Day: Cheer on a friend or classmate for a good job!
    • Wednesday- X: eXtra Day: Add an extra accessory to your outfit like a bandana, bracelet, arm band, hat, scarf, etc.
    • Thursday- W: Walk Day: Go for a class walkabout.
    • Friday- V: Visit Day: Take a Tour of the classrooms for next year, fifth grade go and visit Kindergarten rooms to go full circle.
       
  • Monday also begins the Math portion of the PSSAs for our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.  We encouraged our students to get a good night sleep, to have a good breakfast, and to come to school ready to give it their best effort.  Below are all the rest of the dates for PSSA testing:
    • April 29th & April 30th  (Math)
    • May 1st & 2nd  (4th grade Science)  (May 3-make ups)
       
  • Thank you to all the families who contributed to our Keystone Opportunity Soap drive.  Monday and Tuesday will be our last days of collection for the Keystone Opportunity Soap Drive.   See the flyer with our specific collection items
     
  • Our Oak Ridge Spring Flea Market Fundraiser is coming up on Saturday 5/18 from 8-11am. There is still time to register to sell, just send an email to oakridgefleamarket@gmail.com with your info. There will be a bake sale at this event too. We are looking for baked good donations as well as market volunteers. Please use this Sign-Up Genius if you're able to help.
